Lot 1350
ASTP, 1975, FLOWN 10kt. Gold Robbins Medallion (No. 10F) on a gold bezel, hung on a 14kt. chain. Gold ASTP Robbins medallions are extremely rare and, to our knowledge, only one flown medallion has been sold to a collector from the Gordon Cooper collection (Superior sale, 1995) and one sold privately prior to this sale. As this medallion is from the collection of one of the ASTP astronauts himself, this could be said to be the most important of the sales to date. The gold medallions are the scarcest of the Robbins medallions in that they were carried by the astronauts only for wives and family members. This piece is genuine in all respects.
Estimated Value $20,000 - 25,000.
